Psalm 95
1-5: A call to worship the LORD joyfully
6-11: A call to worship the LORD humbly
This psalm calls for worship to the LORD expressed in two areas – joyful singing and faithful obedience.
When we recognize the greatness of the LORD, we will sing and shout joyfully to the One who made and is above all things. But our worship does not end with singing. It also carries over into obedience that arises out of faith and humility.
If we know that we are His sheep and He is our Shepherd, we will submit to His voice and obey His instructions. We will not rebel and harden our hearts like that wilderness generation did – whose end was destruction and a forfeiture of God’s promised rest.
Our worship is revealed in joyful singing and faithful obedience.
