Psalm 68
1-4: God’s rising and its implications
5-6: God, the just and equitable one
7-10: The earth’s response to God’s procession
11-14: The people’s response to God’s Word
15-18: God’s chosen mountain of dwelling
19-23: God, the Saviour of His people

28-31: God’s strength over the nations
32-35: From His sanctuary to the nations
This Davidic psalm follows the rising and procession of God through the earth, into His chosen city, and finally into His temple.
David alternates between praising the attributes of God and describing the consequences of His procession on human beings and all of creation.
It is a beautiful depiction of God’s glorious dominion over the earth, His equitable justice towards all the nations, and His compassionate deliverance of His people.
