Psalm 66
1-4: Sing praises unto God, all the earth
5-7: Come see the works of God for us
8-12: Look at the ways of God in us
13-15: I will sacrifice unto You, oh God
16-20: I will testify what God has done for me
This psalm of praise calls us into adoration of God through observation of His works and ways. First, we see the greatness of God’s power over his enemies as they are subdued into obedience.
Next we observe His wondrous works in rescuing His people from slavery and refining them through trials before bringing them into abundance. The psalmist offers burnt offerings to fulfill his vows, along with a personal testimony.
We zoom in from seeing God work on a macro level to a micro level. Praise is both global and personal – it is about what He’s done in the earth and in us. Through every experience, we see reasons for praise!
