1-6: The Secret Plot of the Wicked
7-10: The Public Vengeance of God
David prays for protection from the secret plot of the wicked to suddenly attack the innocent. Their words are their weapons, and their pride is in the secrecy of their well-conceived plans. They are convinced no one can discover or expose their plans.
He is confident in the omniscience and justice of God, who will catch them off guard and turn their plan in their own heads. Their stumbling will be public so that people will see God’s works and be instructed. The righteous will rejoice in the LORD because they know He is just in His ways. Amen!
