Psalm 32

1-2: The blessed gift of forgiveness

3-4: The weighty torment of sin

5-7: The faithful mercy of the LORD

10-11: The blessings of trusting in the LORD

This Davidic psalm examines the blessed gift of forgiveness freely offered by the LORD to the repentant sinner who chooses to trust in the LORD. To have our sins forgiven and not have to bear the weight of hiding them is a great blessing! The weight of sin wastes the soul, and the fear of judgment saps our joy. 

But those who are able to freely confess their sins and receive divine forgiveness are free and preserved from present anguish and future judgment. Such people can hide away in God, following His guidance and trusting in Him all their lives. They can shout for joy because the LORD’s goodness surrounds them always. Amen!
