The words we left unsaid, are those we remember the best
The moments we let go by, when our fears, of us, had the best
The chances we never took, when we worried we could lose
Those trips we never took, while trying to fit in others’ shoes
When we pause to think and recall our lives, there they are:
An integral part of our memory, a crucial part of our history
Undone, but present, they remain a part of our lives’ stories

The tears we feared to shed, when our brothers left in silence
Very quickly forgotten, as some deemed them unimportant
The words we never said, to keep their memory in our minds
Because we listened to those who said: many words did no good
The questions we never asked, to put to rest our many queries
Became to us, a source of constant pain and endless doubt
Undone, but present, they came to define what we’re about

I hope you always live your life very present in your present
I hope you never wonder how the flower might have smelt
I hope you never regret delaying that visit to a loved one
Slowly but surely, may you reach out and fulfill all your dreams
May you never hold back a word that will bring you freedom
May your tears flow when they need to, and may your joy overflow
May your life ever be filled with memories from living to the full.
