This psalm of David details the sufferings that follow sin, even while the sinner is repenting. Sin has weighty consequences on our outward and inward life. It affects body, soul, and spirit, impacts desires and pursuits, and leads to strained relationships.

However, even when the consequences persist, in repentance we can stand boldly before God and plead our case, asking for help and deliverance, even from the consequences of our sins. Amen.
