Psalm 28

This psalm of David is a beautiful and encouraging psalm that consists of a prayer for help in the first part, and praise for answered prayer in the second part.

1-5: The Prayer

6-9: The Praise

The prayer includes a plea to be heard and a request to be delivered. The praise includes a personal and general testimony of God’s answer to the prayers of David and His people. The psalm closes with a prayer asking the LORD to shepherd His people eternally – a sign of continued dependence on Him.

The LORD’s great works are both an assurance of what He can do in the future, and a basis to petition Him for our future needs. He is a God who does not change!
