Night time

Darkness descends slowly, like an unwanted visitor

Daylight fades away, as one without a solicitor

The singing birds are no more in sight

Towards their home they’ve taken flight

And so does a man’s brief life evaporate

For any useful work, it becomes too late

Curtains drawn, we hear the click of the gate
