Uninspired

Have you ever waited for inspiration to come? Have you struggled to catch a whiff of fresh air before getting started on a project? Have you ever felt blank in your greatest moments of need, when it seemed everything depended on you getting an ingenious idea? Well, I suppose you have, and that you have sometimes been disappointed, as I have been. I have found out that no great venture is sustained on the ground of inspired ideas. Inspiration may get you started, but diligence and commitment to a cause keeps you in the long haul.

Peace

“Stormy days and troubled nights are borne
Only by souls secured on an anchor eternal
Unafraid, unshaken, and surely not dismayed
They ride the storms, sleep through the nights

Darkness brings doubt, and shakings cause fear
While some run around, others simply melt away
But he who trusts the Lord is like Zion, unmoving

The Market

Everything that has a beginning has an end. So, start with the end in mind. Tonight, I do not feel like writing many words. Yet I feel like I have a lot to say. So many unspoken words harboured in my mind, waiting to be given life and a purpose. I used to yearn to speak; now I hesitate to open my mouth. Who would have ‘thunk’ it? Anyhow, you can read the first two posts using these links: Understanding the Times and Understanding the Times 2. Now, on to the final thoughts on this subject (I hope).

Understanding the Times (2)

“An undiscerning person will often walk into trouble innocently”

Whoever obeys his command will come to no harm,

and the wise heart will know the proper time and procedure.

For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter,

though a person may be weighed down by misery.

Ecclesiastes 8:5-6 (NIV)

Hello! I wish you a happy new month and welcome you to the second half of 2020. It has been a rather eventful year so far, with the COVID-19 pandemic impacting lives and economies globally. But life goes on, and we must make the most of our moments while we are still alive. I pray that your days will count for God’s purpose, and that you will find joy and prosperity in the work of your hands every day. Last week I wrote about “Understanding the Times” and will like to further that discussion today. If you have not read that post, you can read it here as it sets the scene for this current post.
